Welcome 9th Grade!
Class of 2025
9th Grade Action Plan
Once accepted in the Crossroads program, freshmen immediately begin the process of developing a SCHOLAR mindset — a young person with the capabilities, drive, and commitment to apply all of their resources to meet their learning potential and achieve their goals. This year is about establishing academic focus and finding your footing in the Crossroads community, as well as at your host high school.

Freshman Programs
Academic Enrichment Classes
All rising freshmen at Crossroads Foundation are required to participate in summer enrichment courses, specifically sessions on Math, English, and study skills. These courses help prepare scholars for the rigorous academic curricula at their new host high schools.
Low-Ropes Course
For their first official program as Crossroads Scholars, incoming freshmen participate in the summer Challenge by Choice Low-Ropes Course with Camp Guyasuta (CG). Scholars are asked to engage in a number of group activities and use teamwork and communication skills to problem-solve with their peers.
Connecting With Crossroads Week
During a summer week-long series of sessions, incoming freshmen students are introduced to the values and expectations of being a Crossroads scholar. Throughout the week, new scholars learn about the Crossroads program and build relationships with their peers, staff, upperclassmen scholars, and alumni.
Freshmen Matriculation and Summer Picnic
This is an opportunity for incoming scholars and their families to meet and socialize with other students and families while being inducted and welcomed into the Crossroads community.
Peer Mentoring
Freshmen scholars are paired with an upperclassman, someone who can offer peer-to-peer support as they navigate high school. Throughout the academic year, mentor-and-mentee pairings have opportunities to connect and cultivate friendships through group activities.
