Staff Spotlight: Dr. Ramona Crawford

3.23.2023

Meet our staff with our Staff Spotlight!

This month, we meet Dr. Ramona Crawford, the Senior Director of Programs. Growing up with a mother who was an educator, she saw first-hand the impact mentoring and support could have on a student. It motivated her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Sciences, and a minor in Psychology from Florida State University, as well as a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Once she had graduated from Duquesne with a doctorate in Educational Leadership, she was introduced to Crossroads by the Board Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Doctor Anthony Kane. It aligned with her views and hopes perfectly, and the rest was history.

When she’s not at her desk listening to Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 You”, you might catch her at various programs, ensuring they run as smoothly as possible. And if you’re looking for a new bicycle, she is the one you want to ask. She loves cycling so much that she bikes upwards of one hundred miles a month.

When speaking about the future, she hopes that Crossroads can continue its mission, with a focus on mental health and wellness, both for students and staff. She is a bright person to have in the office, and leaves a positive impact with both staff and scholars!

Not a moment goes by in which Dr. Crawford isn’t making a joke to brighten our days, interacting with scholars that congregate in her office, or grabbing lunch for employees when the days run long. If it weren’t for her, life at Crossroads would be far more dull. Thank you, Dr. Crawford, for everything you do for Crossroads!
