As part of the Career Academy, scholars got to learn about real estate from Karen Benner, a key member of Community Alliance of Spring Garden East Deutschtown; Brendan McKenzie from COMPASS Real Estate; and Ted Melnyk from East Liberty Development Incorporation.

Later, they got to head to Duquesne University where they learned about careers in Criminal Justice from our own board president, Ryan McCarthy; they also heard first hand from students Antonio Cheatom, Jordan Jiles, Tiffeny Ayoola, Fallon Howard; and finally, Dr. Mary Buckley from the Wilkinsburg Police Department.
