During the summer, Crossroads organizes a program known as Career Academy! Rising sophomores have the opportunity to tour various fields of work, from healthcare to criminal justice. They meet with professionals in those fields and get a better understanding of what they would like to do after high school!

We kicked off this year with the Healthcare Academy, a three day look into what healthcare professionals do for a living! Various speakers came in to present their work to scholars, and allowed them to have hands-on experience! They learned how to tie sutures, how ultrasounds work, and more!

A sincere thank you to the University of Pittsburgh and to the Southwest Area Health Education Center (AHEC) for planning an set of sessions for our scholars. We'd also like to thank Lynne Williams, Kristy Wiles and staff at AHEC and Pitt enough for being such dedicated partners of Crossroads for many years.
