Rising Sophomore Career Academy: Business and Media

For the final Career Academies for rising sophomores, they were able to visit Capital Foundry and learn the world of business! They pitched ideas a la Shark Tank, and listened to what working in the industry is like!

Then, they got to learn what a career in media and art would be like! People from SLB Radio came in and showed the scholars how podcasts are organized. Then, scholars learned about being a sports photographer and a producer for television!

A huge thanks to Crossroads Vice President, Neal Shipley; professional mentor, Emily Neuherz; and Crossroads Alumnus, Jaffe Scott for helping at Capital Foundry!

And our deepest gratitude to SLB Radio; GoldenSky Media’s Brian Cook; local artist Ashante Josey; and producer at Fred Rogers Productions, Aleya Crable Jennings!
