Rising Sophomore Career Academy: Aviation and Engineering

7.11.2023

Last week on Thursday, as part of the Career Academy program, the rising sophomores got to hear Pilot Chavian Wright of Republic Airways speak on what a career in aviation could store. The scholars then went to the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics to discuss what schooling for aircraft maintenance and pilots would look like!

Then, on Friday, rising sophomores visited Carnegie Mellon University to understand what an engineering career could look like. They experienced hands-on learning from CMU students regarding bioengineering, and listened to professionals from Inpleo and Koppers about how data can be used to improve lives all around the globe!

A big thank you to Pilot Wright, PIA, CMU, Inpleo, and Koppers for the time they set aside to speak with students! You’ve helped leave impressions that will guide their choices for years to come!
