Junior Career Academy

WOW! What a week! 👏🏻

Our scholars had the opportunity to explore various careers in further details, from assisted living healthcare to recording in music booths! The scholars had an absolute joy, being engaged in what they got to do and learn. Safe to say, they had an excellent time!

A huge thanks to the people that helped speak with the scholars and get them invested in their own capabilities:

Dr. Juel Smith and Dr. Ann Cook of Slippery Rock University helped with the healthcare portion, learning about Allied Health Sciences and Occupational Therapy.

The Best Buy Teen Tech Center at Phase 4 showed them education opportunities in technology and engineering, as well as Chaz Peacock who is a long-time partner and talks to our scholars about self-awareness, internal strength and thriving through adversity.

The Trade Institute of Pittsburgh gave us an incredible tour of their facilities where people go to learn trade skills to find their NEXT! Our scholars met the masonry team and construction teams, soon to be in the field making this city a better place!

And we finished the week with Richard Taylor and Sherry Williams (Crossroads alumna!) of ImbuTec where they utilize and deploy innovative technologies to improve energy efficiency in commercial buildings.

We are so appreciative of the time they all took to support our scholars!
